1 bar of Fels Naptha® Soap, 5.5 ounce bar
1 ¼ Cups of Arm & Hammer® Super Washing Soda (not baking soda) 1 ¼ Cups of 20 Mule Team Borax® Powder 1 - 5 Gallon Bucket 1 - Long wooden stir stick, (old rake handle or long dowel rod work fine) 1 - large saucepan with cover 1 - cheese grater to grate Fels Naptha® ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Grate the Fels Naptha® Heat 6 cups of water in large saucepan to a boil Turn off heat - leave pan on stove (IMPORTANT STEP) Add Grated Fels Naptha® soap saucepan of hot water, stir and cover. Stir after ~30 minutes, make sure soap is completely melted. ***WHILE FELS NAPTHA IS MELTING*** Fill the 5 gallon bucket 1/2 full of HOT tap water Sprinkle 1 ¼ Cups Washing Soda into bucket of HOT tap water Sprinkle 1 ¼ Cups Borax® Powder into bucket of HOT tap water Stir until dissolved ***After ~30 minutes & Fels Naptha® is completely melted*** Slowly pour the melted Fels Naptha® soap into the 5 gallon bucket with the Washing Soda and Borax® Stir well Continue filling the 5 gallon bucket until full with hot or warm tap water. Stir well. It is now ready to use. **or** Place cover on 5 gallon bucket In about 24 hours Soap will make a thick gel and look like egg whites. Stir Soap before use. USE 1/2 to 2/3 CUP per load.
